Ayutthaya province [capital = Ayutthaya]

Well-known from contemporary sources and maps, Ayutthaya was laid out according to a systematic and rigid city planning grid, consisting of roads, canals, and moats around all the principal structures. The scheme took maximum advantage of the city’s position in the midst of three rivers and had a hydraulic system for water management which was technologically extremely advanced and unique in the world.

Buri Ram province [capital = Buri Ram]

Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary in Non Din Daeng
Dong Yai Wildlife Sanctuary is home to over 200 wildlife species including 12 amphibians, 25 reptiles, 141 birds and 24 mammals species. Especially, there were reports of an endangered mammals, Kupri existence in the area of Dong Yai.

Kamphaeng Phet province [capital = Kamphaeng Phet]

A common aesthetic runs through the various ruins, which include temples, pagodas and fallen towns, resulting in a beautiful blend of contemporary Sukhothai and Ayutthaya styles. Also noteworthy is the variety of materials used at each site: the eastern bank is home to larger architecture built with laterite in contrast to the smaller, brick-made monuments in the west bank’s Nakhon Chum town. The ruins of city walls and ancient fortifications reveal the town’s rectangular shape, some 300-700 meters wide and 2,200 meters long. The principal Chedi (or stupa) of WatPhraKaeo stands proud in its center, adorned with lions.

Phetchabun province [capital = Phetchabun]

It covers the ancient city of Si Thep, a site inhabited from around the third to fifth century CE until the thirteenth century, spanning cultural periods from late prehistory, through Dvaravati, to the golden age of the Khmer Empire.

Khao Klang Nok is a large religious place in Dvaravati. - The building was built with laterite. - There are four stairs. - The stupa was built with bricks on the top, surrounded by a glass wall and the arch.

Unlike most caves in Thailand which are carved out of limestone, Thamorrat Cave is conglomerate which is very rare. At the entrance, which is only around five metres wide, stands a low-relief sculpture in the Mahayana Buddhist style.

Phetchaburi province [capital = Phetchaburi]

The property is home to the critically endangered Siamese Crocodile (Crocodylus siamensis), the endangered Asiatic Wild Dog (Cuon alpinus), Banteng (Bos javanicus), Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus), Yellow/Elongated Tortoise (Indotestudo elongata), and the endangered Asian Giant Tortoise (Manouria emys), as well as several other vulnerable species of birds and mammals. Remarkably, it is also home to eight cat species: the endangered tiger (Panthera tigris) and Fishing Cat (Prionailurus viverrinus), near-threatened Leopard (Panthera pardus) and Asian Golden Cat (Catopuma temminckii), the vulnerable Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosi) and Marbled Cat (Pardofelis marmorata), as well as Jungle Cat (Felis chaus) and Leopard Cat (Prionailurus bengalensis).

Prachin Buri province [capital = Prachin Buri]

Its attractions include Lan Forest and Recreational Garden, Namtok Thap Lan, Thap Lan Reservoir, Namtok Huai Yai, Lam Mun Bon Dam and Hat Chom Tawan.

Sa Kaeo province [capital = Sa Kaeo]

The park comprises lush jungle mountains with valleys, cliffs, grasslands and waterfalls. The fertile forests includes moist evergreen forest, dry evergreen forest, deciduous dipterocarp, mixed deciduous forest, hill evergreen forest. Pang Sida National Park is a popular destination for it's waterfalls, butterflies and birds.

The fauna of the park includes the Sambar deer, mouse deer, common muntjac, Asian black bear, sun bear, serow, langur, gibbon, palm civet, fishing cat, banteng, gaur and the Siamese hare, as well as the azure-winged magpie, the scarlet minivet, and the long-tailed minivet.

Sukhothai province [capital = Sukhothai]

The ruins of Sukhothai are one of Thailand’s best-kept secrets. Dotted with the columns and spires of 700-year-old temples and shrines presided over by the serene visages of massive Buddha statues, the remnants of the Thai state’s first capital have an enchanted, frozen-in-time feeling.

Si Satchanalai, which literally means "City of good people", was founded in 1250 as the second center of the Sukhothai Kingdom and as a residence of the crown prince in the 13th and 14th centuries.

Udon Thani province [capital = Udon Thani]

Archaeological Site in Ban Chiang at Moo 13, Sutthipong Road
The Ban Chiang Archaeological Site is a prehistoric human habitation and burial site. It is considered by scholars to be the most important prehistoric settlement so far discovered in Southeast Asia, marking the beginning and showing the development of the wet-rice culture typical of the region.

The Phu Phrabat Mountain area preserves the largest corpus in the world of in situ Sīma stones from the Dvaravati period, testifying to the tradition that once prevailed in the region. The scale of Sīma stone erection and rock shelter modification has transformed the natural landscape into a religious centre, and rock paintings on surfaces of 47 rock shelters are the physical evidence of human occupation over two millennia.

Uthai Thani province [capital = Uthai Thani]

The flora and fauna of the sanctuaries include associations found nowhere else, with many species of exclusively Sino-Himalayan, Sundaic, Indo-Burmese, and Indo-Chinese affinities, intermingling within the property. Many of these are rare, endangered, or endemic. The sanctuary’s importance as a conservation area lies in the heterogeneity and integrity of its habitats, the diversity of its flora and fauna, and the complexity of its ecosystem. The property contains exceptional natural beauty and aesthetic importance with steep sided valleys and impressive mountain peaks interspersed with small lowland plains. The scenic beauty of the property is exceptional, enhanced by the sight of a host of tributary streams and waterfalls, the unique mosaic of forest types and the sweeping spectacles of variations of colour, form, and foliage.
