San Juan Bautista Church on Plaza de San Juan
In the temple it is characterized by having a nave covered with a ribbed vault with third rings. The apse is covered with ogival ribbed vaults. At the same time, the presence of several chapels stands out, among which, the most important is the chapel of the relics with its cover with plateresque decoration with cherubs and balustrade columns on the sides.
Palace Golfines de Arriba at Calle Condes, 2
Also known by the name of Casa de los Golfines de Arriba house, its construction dates from the 15th century. The palace is square and has towers on the corners, of which three still survive. The keep dates from the 16th century and stands in the centre of the palace.
Sande Tower on Calle de Orellana
The tower was built in the 14th century in the Gothic style and is attached to the Saavedra house. It features two Gothic windows, the first with an ogee arch supported on columns and framed in an alfiz; the second has a round arch and is decorated with the crest of the Sande family.
Convent of San Pablo at Plaza San Mateo, 2
It was built in the 15th century and has a Gothic arc. There are still nuns living here.
San Mateo Parish on Plaza San Mateo
It was built on the top of the ruins of an ancient Arab mosque, which is cited in a document dating back to 1345. It was rebuilt and completed in the 16th, 18th and 20th centuries.
Hermitage of San Antonio at Barrio de San Antonio, 3
The Ermita de San Antonio is a small chapel and site of an old synagoge where Jews would come to worship during the middle ages.
Church of San Francisco Javier at Plaza de San Jorge 8
A baroque-style Jesuit church built in the 18th century, it was built, next to the adjoining convent, with the fortune of a Jesuit from the Figueroa family, as this was the last link in an estate that was dying out. The works began in 1698 and concluded in 1755.

Caceres north

Palace of Los Golfines de Abajo on Plaza de los Golfines
Also known by the name of the Casa de los Golfines de Abajo, it is one of the finest stately mansions in the architecturally historic quarter of Cáceres. It has a Gothic structure, in keeping with the model of fortress-houses which were built during the 15th century, although its Plateresque decoration dates from the 17th century.
Cathedral of Santa Maria at Plaza Sta. María, 4
It has three Gothic doorways, and the Gospel side is the oldest because it was part of a previous Romanesque construction. The vaults are ribbed. The altarpiece of the main altar is Plateresque and non polychrome. The excellent choir stalls and the pulpit are Gothic. The vestry doorway is Plateresque and leads to the Diocesan Museum. Inside the temple there are several Gothic sepulchres. There is a highly valuable piece - a black crucified Christ dating from the Romanesque period.
Carvajal Palace at Calle Amargura, 1
This building is also known as the Casa de Carvajal, and has both Gothic and Renaissance features.
Star Arch on Calle Arco de la Estrella
The Arco de la Estrella is the main gate to the walled city of Caceres. It was built in the 15th century to allow for the passage of carriages coming from the Plaza Mayor, as the walls had lost its defensive purpose.
Hermitage of Peace on Plaza Mayor
The hermitage of La Paz is attached to the Tower of Bujaco in the Plaza Mayor de Caceres . The temple dates from the 18th century and inside it is the image of the Virgen de la Paz , the work of the sculptor Pedro Correa.
Bujaco tower on Plaza Mayor, 16
The name of the tower derives from Caliph Abu Ya'qub, whose troops conquered the city in 1173.
Church of Santo Domingo at Calle Santo Domingo, 7
The church, one of the largest in Cáceres, was built in the 16th century. The façade is composed of a semicircular arch with vegetal decoration, and above it there is a niche with the image of the Immaculate Conception.
