Fort San Sebastian del Pastelillo

This fort, on the western end of Manga Island, was constructed in the middle of the 16th century as one of the town's first defense posts.

Cathedral

The cathedral was designed by master builder Simón Gonzalez, modelled after basilicas in Andalusia and the Canary Islands. The present tower was designed by French architect Gastón Lelarge, the result of remodelling in the early twentieth century.
Palace of the Inquisition

The Palace was used by Inquisition to try Jews and other non-Catholics and about 800 individuals believed guilty of crimes such as black magic were publicly executed there.
San Pedro Claver Parish

The interior of the church of the Company is distinguished by the severity of its architectural elements, in contrast to the Baroque profusion used by Jesuits in other parts of Spanish America. Its facade is considered as the richest and most monumental of Cartagena.
