Santo Domingo Church at General Torres
The Santo Domingo Church is the second largest church in Cuenca. Its twin towers, 37 meters (121.3 feet) high, are iconic features of colonial Cuenca.
Carmen de la Asuncion Monastery at Sucre and Padre Aguirre
The convent was founded in 1682 for the Order of the Barefoot Carmelites of Our Lady of the Assumption. The church was built around 1730.
New Cathedral at Padre Aguirre 8-27
This building combines many architecture styles, but Romanesque Revival is predominant. The cathedral is surmounted by three giant domes covered by striking blue and white glazed tile from Czechoslovakia.
Old Cathedral at Calle Luis Cordero
Now, the old cathedral is accessible as a museum and definitely worth a visit.
