Fortlet of Sao Mamede at Fortim de Sao Mamede
The bulwarked fortifications of the town and the outlying Fort of Santa Luzia and Graca and fortlets of Sao Mamede, Sao Pedro and Sao Domingos reflect the evolution of the Dutch system of fortification into an outstanding dry-ditch defence system.
Fort of Santa Luzia at Appartado 206
The fort features a quadrangular plan with pentagonal bastions at the vertices, in the Vauban style. The external defense works give it the polygonal starry shape.
Fort of Sao Pedro at R. Colegio Britanico 6
This is a small 19th Century fortress. This enabled raining artillery fire on possible infiltration lines that could be used by by the enemy on this side of the town. Surrounded by a moat, it comprised a small gunpowder magazine for military material".
Republic Square
The opening works of the square, begun in 1511, were carried out in the context of great improvements promoted during the reign of Manuel I of Portugal (1495-1521), when the town was elevated to the category of city.
Amoreira Aqueduct at N4 x N246
In total there are 833 arches, with at most four registers at any one time (diminishing size at higher altitudes), supported by rectangular pillars and strengthened by semi-circular and pyramidal buttresses.

Fort of Our Lady of Grace on Estrada Elvas
The central part of the square features a circular redoubt with two floors and a parapet with gun ports. The fort's circular tower has two vaulted floors: the first consisting of a decorated chapel and the second the Governor's House. Below the chapel, carved into the rock, there is a cistern.
