Lednice north

Obelisk at 5066 Velkopavlovicka
The Obelisk , also called " Facka ", is the northernmost small -scale building of the Lednice-Valtice area . On a square floor, the cubic ledge carries a cornice-shaped truncated pyramid, 23 m high, at the top of which there is a six-foot star, symbolizing the Enlightenment , believing in the power of reason.
John's Castle at Januv hrad 348, Potdin
The castle was built next to a game reserve in a place surrounded from three sides by the river Dyje. It served as a hunting lodge – a gathering place before the hunt and the place of celebrations at the end of the hunting season.
Minarett at Zamek 1
The Lednice Minaret is one of the tallest structures of its type in non-Islamic countries. It was built in the Moorish style according to the design of J. Hardmuth at the beginning of the 19th century and is one of the many Romantic buildings you'll encounter when wandering through the Lednice-Valtice Complex.
Castle Lednice at Zamek 1
Aristocracy used this monstrous fairy-taleish building just as a cottage. They came here in early spring , but for winter they returned to central site in Valtice. Despite of it, they had built in heating, luxury bathrooms, bedrooms, dinning rooms and ballrooms. Lichtensteins were proud of their numerous art collections and they displayed their trophies from Africa and Asia wherever it was possible. The Prayer tower became a cellar for oriental articles, the best items were placed in display cases of African and Chinese room.
Colonnade at Slovacka 518
At this location, Prince Joseph I of Liechtenstein had a monumental Classicist colonnade, decorated with figures from ancient mythology, built.
Temple of Apollo at Novy dvur 196, Breclav
There are mythical images of the god Apollo on a sun chariot, a pair of cupids with Apollo's lyre and four figures of the muses. All of these are part of the figurative elements on the front facade of another magnificent structure built for John Liechtenstein on the side of the Mlynsky Pond.

Lednice south

Rybnicni chateau at Rybnicni zamecek, 437
Classical chateau built by architect Kornhaeusel. It belonged to the Lichtensteins and firstly served as a gamekeeper's lodge, where the gardener was later accommodated.
Temple of the Three Graces at Chram Tri gracii, Breclav
The statues of the Three Graces - Athena (goddess of wisdom and justice), Aphrodite (goddess of love and beauty) and Artemis (goddess of the hunt) - attract tourists walking on the paved road branching off from the main travel route between Lednice and Valtice.
Chateau de Frontiere / Hranicni zamecek at Hlohovec 16, Hlohovec
The building on the west side of the Hlohovecky pond was built in 1816-1827. The sign on the fassade "Zwischen Oesterreich und Maehren" reminds us of the fact that its one half was built on the Austrian side and the other on the Moravian side. The frontier at that time went through the middle of one pond. The frontier was moved far south behind Valtice when Valtice became a part of Czechoslovakia in 1920.
Belvedere at route 422, Valtice
The empiric Belvedere served the Lichtensteins as a summer villa with a view of the countryside. At the same time it was agricultural in character. Pheasants and ornamental peacocks were raised in the aviaries located in the courtyard.
Rendezvous at Rendez-vous 361, Valtice
Minor Romantic structures were intended for the amusement of the nobility and their guests within the Lednice-Valtice Complex, and the Temple of Diana is like a revelation as you approach it, the building is hidden behind tall trees until the last moment.
Chapel of St. Hubert at Bori les, Valtice
The Chapel of St. Hubert is a neogothic chapel in the Lednice-Valtice Area. A triangular shaped chapel with three Gothic arches and ribbed vault which was built in the middle of the Bori les forest according to plans by Jirí Wingelmuller under the rule of Alois II Prince of Liechtenstein in 1855.
Castle Pohansko at Pohansko 1056, Breclav
Empire chateau is a symmetrical building with ground floor, arcaded wings. A buttress is found in the central part with a one-storey extension, which is dominated by long loges with a full parapet enclosed by 12 Ionic columns. Under the cornice of the ground floor are round medallions with stucco depicting ancient hunting scenes.
