The romantic spirit of this place was especially accentuated by numerous architectural constructions in the neo-Gothic style: guarding towers, cast-iron wells and the Ruin bridge over a deep ravine.
Peterhof Palace

Atop the bluff, near the middle of the Lower Gardens, stands the Grand Palace (Bolshoi Dvorets). Behind (south) of it are the comparatively small Upper Gardens (Verhnyy Sad). Upon the bluff's face below the palace is the Grand Cascade (Bolshoi Kaskad). This and the Grand Palace are the centrepiece of the entire complex. At its foot begins the Sea Channel (Morskoi Kanal), one of the most extensive waterworks of the Baroque period, which bisects the Lower Gardens.
Upper garden

The Upper Garden, placed on the terrace in front of the south facade of the Grand Peterhof Palace, is perceived today, foremost, as a grand entrance to the imperial residence. It is a peculiar green vestibule under the open sky - harmonious, bright and spacious. Its layout has been executed according to the sketches of Peter I himself, and changed only slightly over the time.

The impressive ensembles of Olga's and Tsarina's islands were created between the years 1830 to 1840, on the order of the emperor Nicholas I. They are dedicated to his spouse Aleksandra Feodorovna, and their daughter Olga. Diverse in decoration and emotional impact, they would not leave anyone indifferent.

Dacha of Tsarevich Alexander Nikolayevich

The private dacha of the Tsarevich Alexander, later Tsar Alexander II, built between 1845 - 1850 along the Peterhof Road. The architect Stackenschneider built this building for the Tsarevich. In its day, it was considered an architectural masterpiece. I believe it still is, even in it's present delapidated state. That's okay...give the Russian master restorers a chance and it will be returned to it's former glory in due course.
Nature Monument "Park Sergievka"

The park at Sergievka was laid out at the beginning of the 18th century; at the beginning of the 19th century, regular planning was replaced with landscape planning. Memorial oak trees, Siberian firs and various uncommon trees have survived.
