Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights on Ippoton
It is one of the few examples of Gothic architecture in Greece. The site was previously a citadel of the Knights Hospitaller that functioned as a palace, headquarters, and fortress.
Suleman Mosque at Apollonion 11
This mosque was the first mosque in the town of Rhodes, built soon after Ottomans besieged it and captured it in 1522. In 1808 the current building of mosque was built through the reconstruction of this first mosque. Its plaster is rose-pink. The most of the mosque was reconstructed using materials of the buildings which existed at the same place in the earlier period. The pillars of the outer arcade belonged to the Christian church.
Yeni Hammam Baths at Menekleous 5
The interior is even more impressive, as the cold room is embellished with a huge starred dome, luxurious marble decorations, and an elegant fountain at the center. The steam room, with its polygonal heated slab in the middle and its remarkable architecture, also has a distinctive character.
Recep Pasha Mosque at Par. Dorieos 3
Recep Pasha Mosque (1588) is located Dorieos site, east of Agios Phanourios, we can see some ceramic fragments and elements of a Byzantine church.
Marina Gate at Ippokratous 26-30
Strategically built close to the water, the gate's positioning and the narrow space between the sea and the walls made it difficult for any army, regardless of size, to gather and launch an attack from this side; moreover, the towers were equipped with devices designed to pour boiling oil on any possible attackers.
Hospital of the Knights at Akti Sachtouri 8
The Archaeological Museum is located in the Old Town of Rhodes. It is housed in the Medieval building of the Hospital of the Knights.
Our Lady of the Castle Church on Megalou Alexandrou square
The church was built in the late 11th century and belonged to the domed, cross-in-square architectural type. In 1309 the island was conquered by the Order of the Knights of St. John and the church was converted into a Gothic three-aisled basilica with a transept and became the Catholic cathedral of the island, an event mentioned in a papal bull of 1322.
Street of the Knights at Ippoton 1-9
The buildings along the street include inns dating to the 15th and 16th centuries. Some buildings are constructed from finely chiseled sandstone, while others are adorned with intricate carvings or commemorative plaques.
