Cathedral at Piazza del Duomo, 8
The exterior and interior are constructed of white and greenish-black marble in alternating stripes, with addition of red marble on the fassade. Black and white are the symbolic colors of Siena, etiologically linked to black and white horses of the legendary city's founders, Senius and Aschius.

The fassade, in Gothic style, is unfinished in the upper part, such as the apse of the cathedral.
Fonte Gaia on Piazza del Campo
The first fountain in the Piazza del Campo was completed in 1342, after hydraulic construction had led water to the site. Underground pipes brought water to the site from 25 kilometers away.
Del Campo square at Piazza del Campo
It is renowned worldwide for its beauty and architectural integrity. The Palazzo Pubblico and its Torre del Mangia, as well as various palazzi signorili surround the shell-shaped piazza. At the northwest edge is the Fonte Gaia.

The outside of the structure is an example of Italian medieval architecture with Gothic influences. The lower story is stone while the upper crenellated stories are made of brick. The fassade of the palace is curved slightly inwards (concave) to reflect the outwards curve (convex) of the Piazza del Campo, Siena's central square, of which the Palace is the focal point.

When built it was one of the tallest secular towers in medieval Italy. At 102 m, it is second tallest after Cremona's Torrazzo (112 m (367 ft)) the Asinelli tower in Bologna at 97 m being third.
Croce Del Travaglio on Via Banchi di Sopra
Located just upstream from the Piazza del Campo (just separated by the short alley of San Pietro), it owes its name to an ancient cross that signaled its importance and made a bit 'from road sign, indicating to pilgrims the way to Rome , the one for the north and the one leading to the Santa Maria della Scala shelter.

The building, associated with an ancient mercantile family of Siena, currently houses the main offices of the Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, one of the oldest banks in the world.

It is a large edifice built, like many contemporary edifices of the mendicant orders, in bricks, with a lofty bell tower on the left (this was reduced in height after an earthquake in 1798).
