Old Town of Idrija
It is notable for its mercury mine with stores and infrastructure, as well as miners' living quarters, and a miners' theatre.

The second largest mercury mine in the world helped Idrija to flourish in all fields from art and science to commerce and culture.

The special feature of the ”Kamšt” is its huge driving wheel with a diameter of 13.6m. There were many examples of “Kamšt” operating for the mining purposes in Idrija. Only this one at the Joseph’s Shaft is preserved today, it was installed in 1790 and operated for over 150 years, until 1948.

They were built in 1812 as the last brick klavže in the Idrija region. They operated until 1912, just before the abolition of the whole system of klavž, which was replaced by road transport of timber into the valley.

Klavje on the Idrijca began to build in 1767. By capacity and dimensions they were the most powerful among all the kluja in Idrija.

They hold significant historical value as one of the well-preserved structures of the Idrija Mercury Mine. Renowned for their remarkable size and impressive technical, technological, and aesthetic features, they have earned the nickname "Slovenian pyramids."

The enclosed stash retained about 100,000 m³ of water, which, after the opening of the locks, unloaded a stack of thick stacks beneath it, down Belca down to Idrija, where they were caught with "grapes" at the confluence of Idrijca and Nikova . With one float, 3000 m³ of wood could be taken from the dam.

The Krokar Primeval Forest represents the beauty and untouched nature of beech woodlands, covering an area of more than 75 ha. It is a strict nature preserve, also a part of the Nature 2000 program, and represents an ecosystem with an ever-changing balance of soil, climate and a myraid of living organisms: from microscopic beings to bears. Here, the natural processes are unhindered by man and have never been subject to logging. Follow the marked trails and admire the forest from afar.

Sneznik is a large karstic mountain and a mixing zone between the Continental and Mediterranean climates. Evidence of heavy snow loads have caused 'saber trees', bent near the ground on steep slopes.

This exceptional system of limestone caves comprises collapsed dolines, some 6 km of underground passages with a total depth of more than 200 m, many waterfalls and one of the largest known underground chambers.
